1.What’s your business? (In a nutshell)

RTI provides the communications platform for the Industrial Internet of Things.

Real-Time Innovation (RTI) enables smart machines to intelligently exchange various types of data (i.e., Values, Events, Status, Alarms, Commands and A/V Streams w.r.t a specific required QoS) over a wide range of networks using a connectionless Publisher and Subscriber based communication model.

RTI is committed to open standards, open community source and open architecture. RTI provides the leading implementation of the Object Management Group (OMG) Data Distribution Service (DDS) standard.

We provide the platform-agnostic (CPU, OS & Language) middleware, and services to help our customers to implement a successful high-performance and reliable designs with the open interoperable architecture needed by the most critical applications in the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT).

A progressive city with advanced infrastructure and a showcase for emerging Smart City best practice. In addition the presence of the Open University.

3. What’s your interest in Big Data?

The IIoT will generate billions of bytes of data that will need to be reliably and securely available to a range of multi-vendor applications and reporting in order to take full advantage of machine-to-machine communications (M2M).

4. How can Big Data be instrumental in your expansion?

As the leading provider of the emerging standard for M2M communications, RTI is an active sponsor of over 15 Standards & industry Consortia Efforts (OMG, IIC, DDS, FACE, OSA, MDPnP etc.,). Big Data requires more communication and that’s what RTI does best.

5. How can UCMK support you? Service, consultancy etc

As our home city, MK can work with RTI and other interested parties to build practical Smart City demonstrations of the power of the Internet of Things.

We have a small EMEA team, being headquartered in the USA, our revenues are private.
